Thanksgiving 2010

This year we had a great Thanksgiving

Well, we have a great Thanksgiving every year,
but that's besides the point.

Anyways

Usually for Holiday's James and I will split up the day so that we can spend it with his family and then with my family.

But this year my family decided to travel to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her family.

Boy, was I sad (and still am sad) that I'm not there.

My first Holiday I've missed. So not fun.

But I decided that going down to Arizona when she has her baby was a little more important to me.

Plus I'll be able to escape the nasty January weather!

So this year we spent all of Thanksgiving with James' family.

We really had a great time!

This was the first year in many, many, many years that everyone, except one who is on his missoin, would be there from Thanksgiving

Which meant 35 family members were there

and that's just his immediate family!

My sweet Mother in law set the table so we could all sit together!

She seriously is amazing.

After our faboulous dinner

We all relaxed. The boys played, you guessed it, Nintendo and the girls talked.

Later we, and when I say we, I mean Sam and David, put up the Christmas Tree.

Thanksgiving was great. It was a great time to remember how Thankful I really am for everything.

And I'm super excited because James will now listen to Christmas music!

Perfect for a snowy day.
Here are a few pictures  of Thanksgiving 2010

D. All the above

Here is another post full of our happenings this past week. Enjoy!

On Sunday James' sister Mary blessed their darling girl Ella Marie. Chris gave a wonder blessing. We enjoyed each others company at my in laws afterwords. Lincoln and miss Ella met for the first time. They are only 3 in a half weeks apart! They are going to have so much fun growing up together! That is if we can get Mary and Chris to move back to Utah!

Isn't she beautiful

Meeting for the first time

I love my men!

On Saturday night I rubbed my forearm and felt a bump. Well, this bump got bigger and started killing. Yesterday I went to the doctor to get it check out. (my insurance ends soon so I gotta get everything checked before the end of the month)

So looks like I have a cyst. (the picture doesn't do justice) The doctor said it is from...get this...carrying Lincoln's car seat. He said that sudden strain can cause this...which it did. It hurts like a mother! I'm taking an anti inflammatory in hopes it'll go away and if not I'll go and get it drained. Yucky.

Lincoln is growing so much! I love it! He is pretty much out of his newborn clothes. He can still wear his oneies because they stretch so much.  He can't wear his newborn pants anymore because now they are like shorts. I was able to go to the outlets and get some awesome deals on 0-3 month clothes.  For as chunky as he's getting, he still can't wear 3 month clothes because they are too big. 0-3 works perfectly!

He is learning lots and lots every day.  He is still smiling all the time! I love going to get him in the morning from his crib because this is what I find

He is all smiles! He isn't really laughing yet. He is cooing a ton and does that when he smiles but not really giggling.  Trust me, I'm trying though!

I tried putting Lincoln in his bumbo yesterday. He last about 2 minutes before he started falling over. He loves to sit up. He doesn't really enjoy laying on your lap too much these days so once he gets strong enough, i'm sure he'll LOVE it!

He has also figured out how to get his hand in his mouth. He is full of drool these days but we don't mind. He also is figuring how to grasp things. This weekend my dad gave Lincoln a celery stick. Lincoln grabbed it and started shaking his hand. He didn't like holding it and started freaking out and crying but he didn't know how to let the celery go. It made us laugh.

He has THE cutest smile! I love him so much!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Cousin Time

This is Lincoln and his cousin Ella meeting for the first time. I think Lincoln is pretty excited to have so many cousins...especially Ella who is only 3 weeks younger than him.
(More pictures to come on Ella's blessing day)

Funny Picture

(don't mind that it's 4:40AM...i'm just waiting for the Lincster to fall back asleep)

I love taking pictures of Lincoln.

I love taking pictures of Lincoln and James.

Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of yourself and a baby when you are home by yourself all the time and you have nobody to take your photo.

Well, I was looking at pictures today and noticed I only have a select handful of pictures of me and the Lincster.

So I tried to snap a photo yesterday while he was eating.

You know, 'the candid one'.

All in all you know it's not candid because you set up the camera and prepared yourself in the 10second you have before the timer goes off.

ANYWAYS

Here is our candid photo from yesterday.

I think it turned out okay for an amateur candid photographer...

Lincoln is happy taking his bottle

I'm pleased that he's eating

But what is that in the background.

Why yes, it's a little Lincoln...

popping his little head to be in the photo.

 hahahaha
I almost died when I saw my computer in the background!

Like I said
I think it turned out okay for an amateur candid photographer... :)

(If you didn't read my previous post...make sure you read it! Lincoln is 2 months already!!)

2 Month Check up

Lincoln is officially 2 months now, which means he had his 2 month check up. Here are the Misters Stats:

Age: 2 months +1 day
Date: 11-15-10
Length: 23-0  50%
Weight: 12.9  75%
Head Circ: 39-0  25%

Since his 2 week checkup He has grown
2 inches in length
4 pounds
and 2.3 cm in his little head

As you can see, we have a healthy little boy!

He also had shots today :( Not fun at all! We had to wait for the doctor to come in so we took some happy photos before he got his 3 shots and 1 oral medicine.

Here is Lincoln after his poor shots. I have never heard him cry so loud! He hit a new high night. Poor guy. Luckily I was able to hold my tears.

His band-aid have little monkeys on them.

Right after his shots I cradled him and he stopped crying and fell right to sleep. I then went to the store to guy some Tylenol. Tylenol is our new best friend!
Here are some pictures I took of Lincoln at 2 months...He's getting so big!!

A lot of randomness

So this post has a LOT of random things in it...so...enjoy!

Mr. Lincoln has been sick the past 2 days :( It makes me so sad to see him stuffy and coughing and jagging and throwing up. Even though all these symptoms, he's still such a happy, smiling boy. It's like it's only phasing me, and not him. We go to the doctor on Monday for his 2 month appointment, so I'll get him checked out then.

Mr. Lincoln also has acid reflux. He's on a prescription to help with the acid, but it doesn't stop the spitting up. Needless to say, we see a.lot. of spit up at our house. And since he's sick, when he coughs he can throw up all his milk.  This is what happened yesterday.

Poor guy

--------------------
This is Lincoln after his bath the other night. He is seriously so cute! And i LOVE his jammies!

He's getting so good at holding his little head up!
 Op! Smitters again!
Daddy to the rescue!
-------------------------

So James asked me to pick the roses in our front yard because they were starting to bloom. When it comes to the yard I leave all that up to him, but I thought I'd be a good wife and do what he asked and I picked the roses! Look how pretty.

When he got home, I made sure he noticed that I had picked the roses like he had asked. Later that night while I was cleaning up I noticed tiny spiders all over my counter. Yep, those pretty roses were COVERED in tiny spiders! Gross. So much for our pretty roses in our house...they are now in the dumpster.

--------------------

Want some more randomness..Okay!

This happened a few weeks ago.  I had called James to see what he wanted me to pick up at the store for dinner. He asked if I would try something new for dinner and not make the same things I make each week. I cant blame him. We've had the same dinners for a year and a half now. So, I put together a great shopping list to make great new recipe's.

When James got home from work, He took Lincoln and they started watching some tv. I was busy in the kitchen cookin some chicken. Well, I started to get thirsty, so I put my water jug in the water dispenser on the fridge.

Well, I got carried away trying out my new recipe.  I was standing in the kitchen cutting my chicken now and I heard the downstairs door open and the guy who rents the basement called up for me. James answered and asked what he could do. He said that there was water dripping from his ceiling and last time that had happened, the tenant upstairs left the kitchen sink on and flooded the kitchen. Well, I looked at the sink and now water was on. I thought, 'hum did I leave the bath running.' Nope, didn't shower today! :) I thought, that's too bad, someone (James) left something running. I continued to cut my chicken when James walked into the kitchen and all he said was, 'are you seriously jami.' Yep, you best believe it-I flooded our kitchen because I left my mug in the water dispenser. We laughed all night about my mishap. Goodness there was so much water!!

:)
