James got pretty gutsy and did this

And I said "Yes"

I'm so glad I said Yes on that day.
I am so extremely happy and I love our happy life together.

Our '5 year' plan was to get married, finish school, work, travel and then start our family by our 2 year anniversary.
Well, that didn't happen!

I love that our plan changed and that we have our Little Lincoln in our family.

I was talking to James last week and brought our plan up.
I said -
'Could you imagine if we would have waited the 2 years to have a baby like we originally planned on-
Could you imagine not having Lincoln in our lives?'

It's crazy to think that if we stuck to our plan I would probably just be getting pregnant and we wouldn't have Lincolnator.
Totally crazy and mind boggling (yes mind boggling)

I'm so happy and grateful that I have what I have

And that I made the greatest life changing decision 2 years ago.

Our own home

As of February 24th

We became HOME OWNERS!

Yep, you heard it right. We own a home!

Goodbye rent . . . hello mortgage

We bought the house that we have been renting since we got married.

It is located in Lehi, just south of Thanksgiving point.

Like Thanksgiving point is our backyard.

Well, actually there is a field between us and Thanksgiving Point- but you get the idea.

You can see our house from the freeway.

Awesome freeway access.  2 to choose from!

Our little house is a total of 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths and 2 full kitchens :)

As of right now, we are renting out the basement of our little home. (helps pay that little thing called a mortgage)

And we are living in the upstairs. The upstairs has 3 beds and 2 baths

The downstairs has 2 beds and 1 bath.

We have a 2 car garage, a yard and we live in a cul-de-sac!

AND it's only 35 minutes from my front door to my parents front door.

Yes I wish we bought a house closer to my parents :) but while I am in school for another year, it makes since to be down south.

And the house is a good investment for down the road
(2 renters at a time)

So - basically we will keep the set up we've had while we were renting - we'll occupy the upstairs while we will rent out the basement to someone.

Pretty nice if you ask me!

I've had so many decorating ideas floating around in my head while we were going through the buying process.

The first step is to tackle the front room

We just bought new couches (we will get them in about 2 weeks)

Then, it's adding all new accessories
...and getting the carpets clean :)

Then redo the guest/Lincoln's bathroom

Then I want to repaint the kitchen...and get a kitchen table :)

The list goes on and on...

Basically I am really excited!!

The Valentine Man

Happy Valentine's to everyone!

Did the Valentine Man come to your house?
Well, he surely came to ours!

We were watching The Bachelor Monday night and conveniently during one of the commercials there we heard the door bell ring! (okay, I opened the door, rang the door bell and closed the door)

I looked at Lincoln and told him the door was for him!
James got so excited and grabbed Lincoln and headed to the door.

Low and behold, there were socks on the door step!
The Valentine man knew exactly what Lincoln needed!
Poor Lincoln was so confused - and cold.
But it was still fun for me and especially for James.

So, we sat back down, watched a little more TV then we heard the doorbell ring again.
The Valentine man left one more surprise for James..I mean Lincoln.

Lincoln hasn't found a love for the taste of Chocolate yet.

But he does LOVE squash!

On the 14th (Valentines day) Lincoln turned 5 months!
5 months already!
wow.

He has been eating rice cereal every evening for a month now
and on Monday we started him on actual baby food.

The nurse at the doctor's office suggested just giving him of a jar 2 times a day.

Well, Lincoln loved the squash and ate the whole jar.

It was hilarious watching him eat it!
He would open his mouth really wide for each bite  and quickly swallowed.
I then held the spoon by his mouth and he started kicking and kept trying to grab the spoon.
It so so cute.

Too bad he doesn't do that with his green beans.

Here are so fun pictures I took of Lincoln @ 5 months

I am SO in love with his smile.
He is seriously one of the happiest babies on Earth.

I get asked all the time if he is always that happy and smiley and my answer is always
"yes"

I am one lucky mommy!

Okay - back to Valentines day.

James and I don't celebrate Valentines on the actual day. Why spend some much?
We celebrate the day after when everything is marked down and restaruants aren't crowded.

So yesterday was our Valentines.

I got home from class last night and found this on our counter.

 And if you look closely...
on $1.14 for a bag of candy!
and the chocolates were only 2 bucks!

We are going out to eat this weekend
well, at least I think we are.
But last night to finish off our Valentines evening we made party pizzas and watched a movie

Aren't we so romantic?
(have you met my husband?!) :)

bye bye sickness

Well we survived Lincoln's ear infection.
We are still giving him his antibiotics for a few more days just to make sure it's really gone.
He is back to his normal self!
Yay!
He is sleeping again
(through the entire night I might add)
and loves play time again.

I am so glad he isn't sick anymore!
Having a sick little one is one of the worst things I have had to experience.
it made me so sad everytime I saw him messing with his ear :(
We had lots of cuddle time
and gave lots of kisses

We also gave him lots of warm bubble baths
which he of course loved

I'm so happy my smiley little guy is all better

Check out this picture! He's totally doing a push up!

my sick baby boy

See this little guy

He hasn't been sleeping well the past 2 nights. And when I say he hasn't been sleeping well, I mean he hasn't been sleeping at all.

He'd wake up every hour screaming like I have never heard him cry/scream before,

It sounded like he was in pain, so much pain.

So last night, I just rocked him during the night while he whined and whimpered.
My heart broke. It made me so sad because I didn't know why he was acting this way.
This morning I woke up knowing that he was sick and that I needed to take him to the doctors. It wasn't like him to scream everytime I laid him in his crib. He was so unhappy.
My gut feeling: ear infection. Don't ask me why or how I thought it was an ear infection, but I just knew it was. Call it mommy intuition. Mommies do know their children.
The Doctor confirmed I was right.
He was sick.
Really sick.
Ear infection sick.
Lincoln has had a cold for a past few days which has led to an ear infection in his left ear. (although I thought it was in his right ear)
It is so sad to see Lincoln sick like this. It has also been really hard for me and James because he hasn't napped at all today because laying down bothers him so much - lets face it, we're tired.
Luckily we got an antibiotic and hopefully that will start kicking in soon.
But for now, it'll be a LONG night of cries and cuddling
