The Release

I just needed to verbally express how grateful I am for my dad and all his hard work. Yesterday afternoon he was released as second counselor in the stake presidence.  He had been in that position for 9 years. I was in the 7th grade when He was called and now i'm in my 3rd year of college and married.

It's weird to think he's not 'President' anymore. I grew up with him having meetings Tuesday and Thursdays night, and being very involved in the stake. We are grateful that he'll be around...especially now that my parents are empty nesters.  It's been fun to see my parents begin to the adjustment of having more time together.  The past month or so my dads meeting haven't been so regular so my parents would go out and send time together. It is so fun seeing them. It's like they are on a second honeymoon. They truely love each other and I love seeing it!

The new stake presidency is going to be amazing! The new President was one of my former Bishops and was the Stake Executive Secretary, Bishop Strong.  He is such a great man! He is so loving, caring, and a genuin person.  The first and second counselors were also former bishops in the stake...both outstanding men.

It'll be great to have dad around more. I know it'll be an adjustment for him, but he served faithfully and magnified his calling to the fullest. Good job dad...I Love You

Bridal Photos

I know we've been married for almost 4 months now, but I finally got the copyrights to our wedding/engagement/bridal photos today! yay! It's been taking a long time to upload the 4000 photos, but it's almost done! i'll post a few of the bridals that I have already.

My photography was Adilifa Ford @ donpolo.com She was amazing!! If you want a good, socialable photographer..higher her!

I got my pictures done at Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake. I loved doing them there! Earlier that day it was stormy and raining and I wanted to cry! While I was getting my hair done, my mom called and said they forgot to do my bouquet...talk about panic attack! Luckily my sister was able to let me vent to her. Luckily the florist was able to find the flowers and put one together and it looked decent so I was happy...and the rain quit! We got some awesome photos of the stormy sky in the background. Yay for miracles!

P.S. I LOVE MY DRESS!!!

Enjoy!

"Updated" house

I married into such a great family! James' sister is moving and they were giving away a lot of their stuff in order to get ready for their new house. Well, they had us in mind when they were giving things away! We were able to get 2 awesome leather chairs, a leather Ottoman that opens for storage and a lot of home decor stuff! Meliss has such a great style and i'm so lucky to have it in our home now! Here are a few pictures of our 'updated' living room. When I finish and clean the rest of the house..i'll post some pictures of the rest of the house!

What do you think?!

My Parents New House

So my parents have been in the process of adding on to their house. IT IS LOOKING AWESOME! It is really messy right now because the sheatrock just got done. The wood floors are going to be stained on Monday, and Cabnets will be coming on Friday. It's coming along really great. It should have been done by now, but there was some flooding at the first of the construction, so it has been delayed pretty much a month. My poor parents have been living in pretty much one bedroom house for months now! Thank goodness for my sweet sister Jana who has opened her house to the family! Thanks Jan!
I can't find any pictures of the rooms before the remodel. But i'll show you what some of it looks like now. Like I said, it's still a mess but in a few weeks...it'll all be worth it.

So my parents are adding on to their kitchen/living room by 10 feet. Taking out the back hall, closet and bathroom and making that into the kitch as well. Making the laundry into the butler pantry. Removing the 3rd garage and making that into the new laundry room and bathroom and mudroom. Putting a covered patio in the back equipted with a fireplace and 2 ceiling fans. Adding a new 3 car garage on the side of the house. Expanding the basement for extra space. Adding a storeroom. Knocking out the wall that use to be kelli's room and connecting that to the big room for a game room. Taking out the fall that was infront of mine and jana's old rooms and making the bedrooms bigger. They had to made a domor window in Mitch's old room upstairs for support so that adds a lot of space up there as well. As you can tell...it's gonna be awesome when it's finished!!!!

St. George Marathon

Last weekend James, his brothers: Sam and John and I went down to St. George for the St. George Marathon. I was so happy to get away for a little road trip. I was also really happy because training for this marathon has been a killer.
When we got down to St. George we went and picked up their packets and numbers. They had a lot of booths set up and we found one that checked your body fat percentage. James and I went and got it done together. The lady laughed when our results showed up. James has like 7.7% which is really low and mine was like 14.5% which is also really low. The lady said we needed to go home and have a good home cooked meal. James looked at me and we both laughed. We both know that since we've been married we really only have one home cooked meal a week! ha! Life is too crazy to cook these days!
After we picked up the packets we went to my sister is law, Sydney's house. She and her family was so kind to let us stay at her house that weekend. We had dinner, and just relaxed which was really nice.
At 4:25 AM James' alarm went off and they were all in the car 10 minutes later so they could make the bus to the starting line for the race. Luckily for me..I got to stay in bed until 8! Sam and I left just after 9 to get to the finish. I was so happy that we left not a minute later because right when we got to the finish line...I saw this...

James had just finished and crossed the finish line!
He did SUCH A GOOD JOB TOO!! He ran the race in 3:02! He beat his previous scores which was really good. But he was a little disappointed because he wanted to get 3 or under 3 minutes this year. But he can blame it on his legs cramping up on mile 23 :) But the good news is that he and all is siblings AND Sydney qualified for the Boston Marathon! Boston here we can...2011!!!
I'm so proud of him!!! I love going and watching James' races! I'm just sad I won't be able to be in Florida this November to watch him run THE IRON MAN. ...But I know he'll still do great!

Thomas and Sydney
Tom ran about 3:07 and Syd ran 3:13! Awesome job guys!

My brother in law John
Finished around 2:52

Lots to Catch Up!!

So during the summer James decided to take me fishing! I wanted to go so bad this summer and I was finally able to go! We went up American Fork Canyon on Labor day. It was super crazy crowded there and nobody was catching anything. I kept positive that i'd catch a fish...and low and behold I DID! Unfortunatly, James didn't think really think that I had a fish on the end of my line...he thought I had picked up something from the bottom of the lake. SO there aren't any pictures of my awesome fish. Sad, I know. We we did have a lot of fun! Can't wait til next summer to fish some more! yay!
(Sorry, I can't get my pictures to turn around...i'll post them once I figure it out)

New Car

Just so everyone knows...
This past summer James bought me a new car!!!
So if you won't be seeing my sporting around in the red civic anymore..i'll be driving this!

Super cute huh?!
