Car Show

If you know my husband you know he loves cars.
He loves fast cars, he love slow cars.
He love old cars, he loves new cars.
He loves white cars, he love black cars.
I'm starting to sound like Dr. Seuss now...so you get the idea.
Cars, Cars, Cars, Cars.
Every day I find him looking at cars on the internet.
Everyday it's a new car that he wants.
That hubby of mine really, REALLY likes cars.

Since he likes cars so much every year we go to the Auto Show in Sandy.
He knows exactly which weekend it falls on every year.
(did I mention he likes cars?!)

So, this year was like every other year -
We went to the Auto Show.

This year was extra fun because Lincoln really likes cars now.
He refused (and i mean REFUSED) to stay in the stroller.
He needed to get in every car and test it out,
push all the buttons,
and try to honk the horn.
He even tried licking one of the cars - it's on ice cream bud!

Anyway -
We enjoyed our day adventure to the car show this year.
Me and Winston felt the same way about it...
..tired and not so interested...

But every year we go cuz Daddy really, really really likes it.
And I humor him by going and telling him which cars I think are cool or dumb :)

By the end of the show
me and Win found a car we both liked
Success indeed

Christmas 2012

I had such high expectations for Christmas this year.
I was so excited for Lincoln because he was old enough to have an understanding what Christmas was all about. And it was Winston's first Christmas.
Lincoln knew about Santa Claus and Reindeer and presents.
I was so so SO excited for him to wake up on Christmas morning and see all his presents from Santa.

Well, that wonderful tummy bug was still affecting Lincoln. He was so sad and so mellow.
As soon as he woke up, he came into our room and said, (in a soft whisper) Santa Claus? Reindeer?
I got up quickly and said YES! Santa Came!

We then raced him to the tree and he just climbed on the couch and asked for chocolate milk. We gave it to him and next thing we knew he was throwing it up. poor guy.

When it was time to open our stockings I handed Lincoln his and he threw it on the floor and just cried. He so didn't feel good. James had to help him open his stocking and see what little toy Santa put in his stocking. As soon as he saw Thomas, he showed the first smile of the morning.

The started getting a little more energy as he opened each present. He got some fun things including: clothes, wabble toys, an animal tractor, trains, trains and more trains.

Winston enjoyed his first christmas as well! He enjoyed laying on his blanket :) Winston got: a stuffed animal, clothes, an awesome tummy time pillow, exersaucer and books and rattles.

James got some clothes, cologne, a movie, and a nice jacket.

I got a nice watch, a wallet, sunglasses and a giftcard to a spa :)

After our morning of opening presents we all go ready and headed to Johns house to see what Santa brought them. We enjoyed eating and playing with all their new fun toys.

For Dinner we were invited to Kelli's and Nick's house. Jana and Jake and their family came, but we missed Mitch and Steph. We had such a great time together! I love when we can have family time. I just need Jana to move back to Utah :)

We had a great dinner of ham (thanks mom and dad), potatoes, veggies and a yummy cake for dessert. Unfortunately I only took these 2 pictures.

When we got home that evening, I came down with the stomach bug. Yuck. It totally ruined Christmas vacation. We stayed home. We didn't go anywhere or be with family because we didn't want the nasty bug to keep spreading. I so wanted to play with my boys and go sledding and hanging with my family. But, we didn't :(

James and Lincoln did however find lots of opportunities to shovel all the snow we received! I will say, having a White Christmas made it feel extra Christmasy :)

Leading to Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year.
It was so different having our parents away, that's for sure.
We still enjoyed hanging with our siblings during the Christmas break.

The weekend before Christmas we had our annual "Craven Family Nativity"
This year we had the party at my Grandparents church.
It was fun to get together with the extended family.
We don't get to see them much since my parents are gone, so it was really nice to visit.
We then had the Nativity.
Sweet Jayci got to be Mary this year. She was perfect for the part.
Mitch on the other hand...well, it's just typical mitch :)

My absolute favorite part of the get together is getting to hear my sweet Grandpa's testimony.
The kiddos enjoyed all the germ infected toys
 The big boys enjoyed BBall
 And Linc terrorized Mack

A tradition I started with my own little family is that on December 23rd we make Christmas Sugar Cookies.
It's such a fun thing to do as a family and it was even more fun this year because Lincoln was old enough to help me in the kitchen baking and decorating.

For Christmas Eve we kept all our normal traditions.
For Christmas Eve morning we had our traditional 'Christmas Eve Brunch'.
Instead of being at my parents house (sense there is no more parents house)
I invited everyone over to our house for a little Brunch, Christmas crafts for the kiddos, cousin gift exchange and chatting.
Well, that morning Lincoln man threw up. (great)
Then, Jana called an hour before everyone was meeting and said that Kaiders was throwing up. (awesome)
She still was planning on coming, only late.
Needless to say, the only thing that we accomplished was eating, chatting and the kids gift exchange. The weather turned into a blizzard so everyone took off to try to beat the storm.
On Janas and Jakes way back to c-ville, Jana started loosing her breakfast.
The stomach bug was traveling our through our family...fast!

Later that night we traveled to Mike and Melissa's house to have Christeve Dinner and Nativity.
It was fun getting together with James' siblings
We also got a chance to talk to David, who is serving his mission in Florida.
It was so good to talk to him.
We truly miss him so much! We can't wait til he gets home in October!
