Winn is 6 Months

My little baby Winston is already 6 months old!

I honestly cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.

Like every mom says - I cannot believe how big they get! They grow up way to fast!

(Winn a few days old - Winn 6 months old)

Today I took him in for his 6 month well check.

Age: 6 months + 1 day

Date: 2.22.13

Weight: 16 pounds 4 ounces  (26%)

Length: 27.5 inches   (87%)

Head Circ: 45 cm   (90%)

Tall and Skinny...with a big head :)

Winston is so much fun

and so easy

He sleeps and sleeps and sleeps.

He takes 3-4 naps a day...each nap about 2 hours.

He goes to bed at 7 PM and wakes up at 7 AM

(we will still wake up once or twice in the middle of the night)

He can really only stay awake for an hour and a half at a time

I try and try to keep him up but he can't do it- he'll just fall asleep

He sleeps as much as he did when he was a newborn!

When Winston gets tired he starts to talk

He starts his loud, baby talk.

The more tired he gets, the louder his babblings gets.

It's hilarious!

Winston is always happy

Always smiling.

He rarely cries and even his cry is so soft and gentle

 

He is really funny about eating.

He can only drink about 3 ounces every time he eats

and he likes to eat every 2 hours or so.

Even if we try to stretch his eating time to 3 or 4 hours (or while he's napping)

He will still only eat 3 ounces.

No matter what he try...his tummy just can't handle lots of food at the same time 

He is not a fan of baby food or cereal

 We are going to try to be more persistent with him eating his solids.

Winston can sit up for a few seconds and then he'll tumble

Winn doesn't take a binky. He never has and i'm afraid he never will
(a binky would be so nice sometimes)

He sleeps swaddled

He loves to roll from his tummy to back...

He can't stay on his tummy for longer than a few seconds then he rolls over-

for this reason I don't know if he'll ever learn to crawl :)

 

Winn has discovered his tongue and loves to stick it out.

He is fascinated with other peoples tongues too.

If you stick your tongue out at him he'll stare and it then try to grab it

Winston loves his bouncers

He wears size 2 diapers

He wears 3 size month clothes

and a few 3-6 months 

We discovered last night that Winston loves to have his back scratched.

I was sitting with him and he started to do his loud babble "i'm tired" talk.

I wanted him to stay awake for another 30 minutes before I put him to bed but he was being so loud I couldn't even have a conversation with James (seriously, his "i'm tired talk" is SOO loud. And it's happy talk...not crying talk)

So I laid Winn on my shoulder and started scratching his back.

He instantly stopped...was completely still and was focusing.

As soon as I stopped it was like he snapped out of it and started his tired talk again.

We were laughing so hard.

Winston has his daddy's hair. 

It is as straight as hair can get.

It sticks up and out.

I'm curious if it'll stay straight or grow some curl in there like linc did.

Winston is starting to get lots of energy when he is awake.

He likes to kick and flap his arms

It's starting to remind me of how lincoln was...

oh boy

Winston is a complete charmer

He melts everyones heart with his big dimples and big blue eyes and long eyelashes

Winn is fascinated with his feet now too.

He loves to grab and suck on his toes. 

We are beyond grateful for our baby boy in our life.

He makes life so fun and enjoyable.

Happy 6 months! 

I can't believe he's almost one! :)
