The Zoo

The day before my parents went into the MTC we got together and went to the zoo as a family. We only had an hour and a half there before he closed but it was the perfect amount of time. The kids loved spending one last evening with their grandparents and I enjoyed a wonderful evening with my parents.

They have added on to the zoo and it was awesome! I just wish the polar bear was actually awake.

Lincoln loved the zoo so much! He loved being free and loved running around and around. He slept so good that night! :) He is at such a fun stage because he is really getting to know his animals. He also knows what the animal says. So it was fun for him to see real animals and have him mimic the sounds they make. Goodness, he is growing up too fast!

After the zoo, we went to liberty park in SL and enjoyed the rest of the evening chatting and watching the kids play.  It was a great ending to a great day!

And this is what happens when the sisters bombard a photo...

The Wright's Setting Apart

The following week, June 21st, my in laws were set apart as well. Can I just say how amazing it was to be able to be in the presence of 2 apostles.  It was such a neat experience to be with Elder Nielson the week before, and such a neat experience to be with Elder Perry. If you can have favorite apostles, mine would be Elder Perry. I have always loved the way he speaks and I love just the man he was. So, it was an extreme treat for me to meet him when he set apart my father in law as The Mission President of the Porto Alegra Brazil.  And once again, Elder Zuick was able to be with us and he set apart my mother in law as a full time missionary.

Two weeks prior, the Wright's spoke in church. They too did a remarkable job. It was fun seeing Layne and Marian interact with all their family and friends.

My Parents Setting Apart

Friday, June 15th was a special day for my parents and family. My dad was set apart as the Mission President over the Charlotte North Carolina Mission and my mom was set apart as a full time missionary. It was such a neat experience to be in the presence of Elder Nielson, who set apart my dad, and Elder Zuick, who set apart my mom.

Elder Nielson was so kind and loving. He gave some great insights and taught us well. My dad was blessed with amazing blessing. He will be truly blessed while he is away serving.

There were many tears shed, all tears of joy.  I cried when my mom has being set apart and the words were said, "I set you apart as a full time missionary." The thought of my mom finally becoming a missionary was so joyous.  She will be the best missionary ever!

The following Sunday my parents spoke in church.  They both did an amazing job. The missionaries in North Carolina are extremely blessed to be taught by such great teachers.

My sweet neighbors who I grew up next to, The Smiths, opened up their beautiful home to my family to have a luncheon afterwards. It was nice to have a place to go considering my parents were all packed up and their house was empty. (such a weird thing!)

Our Sunday was spent surrounded by the ones we love most. It was so neat to see all my parents friends come wish them their love, support and luck.
