Home Sweet Home

I LOVE where we are living! Me and James moved to the top floor of a house in Lehi. I was luckily enough to marry into the greatest family. The house we moved into use to be owned by James' sister and brother in law and once they moved out they started renting it out. We got a phone call a few weeks before the wedding from Mike (James' brother in law) and he said that the man on the top floor is moving out and that if we want to rent the 3 bedroom, 2 bath place..we could. And you best believe we took the offer!! The house is only about 5 years old so everything is up to date. It is also in the greatest location! Two freeway entrances, TARGET!! Walmart, Albertsons, ROSS!! Bed, Bath and Beyond, Restaurants and anything else we need!

I took some pictures of what we've done so far!

(Yes, that is a card table...the perks of being newlyweds!)

The entertainment center
(The old TV didn't fit...)

...So we bought a new one!
(and yes, the TV didn't fit in the car so it rode on my lap the whole way home)

As you can see, there is still a lot we need to do to finish making our house into a home, but at least we are off to a good start! We are going to be painting the kitchen this week, switch some of the bedding, get some couches, hang pictures, and get the guest bedrooms put together. Once I get some more projects completed...I'll post more pictures!

Puerto Vallarta...Honeymoon Style

James and I were so lucky to be able to go to Puerto Vallarta for 7 days for our Honeymoon. It was so relaxing to be able to sleep in, sit by the pool, swim in the ocean, sight see, go waterfall jumping, go into town, listen to the rain, walk the beach during sunset and just be together.

We got married on that Tuesday and stayed in Park City for a few days until we left for Mexico on Friday. It actually worked out perfectly because the night of the wedding I started to get the stomach flu! (GREAT first couple of days!) It was so not fun! Luckily I married the greatest guy in the world! He just sat with me while I cried telling him how I ruined our honeymoon. I could not believe somebody could be that sick! Luckily I started getting better the morning we flew to Mexico. So, once again, Mexico was SO nice and SO relaxing!

Here are some pictures of our fun time in Mexico!

Engagements

Now, I know I have been married for a month now, but I still don't have the copyrights to our wedding photos yet, so the engagements will have to do for now. Here are a few of our favorites. If anybody is looking for a photographer for ANY occasion, I would HIGHLY recommend Adilfa Ford. You can check her out, along with some of my bridals at www.donpolo.com

I'M ENGAGED!

Okay- so a lot of people have been asking how James proposed, so I'm going to release the story...

THE PROPOSAL
I had been bugging James for the LONGEST time to propose to me already! I knew that he had talked to my parents the get 'permission' a couple weeks before. I kept bugging him and bugging him and he was like "well, how am I propose when you work every weekend?" And I said, "well I don't work next Wednesday or Friday." And he replied with, "Okay, be patient with me, I'm trying to plan this proposal for next Friday." (March 13th) So, I stopped bugging him and started to get excited for next week.

Well, this weekend, Friday and Saturday I was working a ton to get ready for our Prom Fashion Shows all day Saturday. The day was going really well and I was hoping that James would make it to our final show at 7. My coworker, Nicole's boyfriend was going to be at the show so I really wanted to have the support of my boyfriend too. Well, James text me during the day and said he had to play at the Temple open house and he didn't know if he could make it. Nicole (who was a part of the proposal) would make comments like, "well, if he doesn't come, don't be too tired, make sure you at least stop by and see him at his house." She made it seem that it would be okay if James didn't show up and that I would still see him later. Well, the 7:00 show started and I'm back stage telling the models when to go one stage by peaking through a hole in the curtain, when I saw James' mom standing outside the room. I thought to myself, hum - why is James' mom here? She had mentioned a few times before that she would love to come to one of my shows to see what I do, so I kinda figured she was just coming to see what I do for work. When the show finished and Nicole started saying "thanks for coming to our show. We would like to thank Dave our owner who is here. Jessie and Leslie for their help. Jessie and Leslie, please wave. And Jami who is back stage helping the girls. Jami, can you come on stage." So, I just peaked through the curtain and waved and then I looked down the runway and there was James, in his suit and tie, standing at the end of the runway. I seriously just froze, standing behind the curtain. Nicole finally said, "Go over to him" I gradually walked to the end of the runway and James said he loved me, knelt down on one knee. The audience was screaming! Now, keep in mind, a High School Prom Fashion show just ended so there were hundreds of people in the audience and 100 High School girls back stage watching this. He then grabbed my RIGHT hand. I had to say, wrong hand. So then he grabbed my left hand and asked if I would marry him. I'm pretty sure I said yes! We were both shaking so much he couldn't put the ring on my ring. I helped him out and the ring fits perfectly! His lovely parents were there recording and taking pictures! I was SO surprised!! I was not expecting it at all! We then got into the car and started calling and texting everyone. We are so excited to finally announce WE ARE ENGAGED!! We then headed up to Sundance for a romantic dinner at The Tree Room at Sundance. I was so excited about being engaged that when the waiter came to our table, I was like, We just got engaged - look at my ring! Ha, I love saying that I'm engaged and that I have a Fiancee!! I love James so much and I cannot wait to marry him JUNE 30Th!

James Asking the BIG QUESTION!

I said YES!
