Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS

A few weeks ago, we were asked to play Mary and Joseph and Lincoln to play baby Jesus in our ward Christmas Program.  At first I was hesitant because I thought it'd be 'cheesy' but in the end I was truly grateful we agreed to play the part.

A man in our ward read from Luke as we walked into the chapel.  He was reading about Mary and Joseph going into Bethlehem to be tax and how Mary was great with child and was trying to find a place to stay.  I imagined myself being pregnant and getting turned down by inn keepers because all of the rooms were full. I couldn't imagine the disappointment Mary could have felt. I couldn't imagine not being in a nice place to deliver a baby.
Doing the Nativity was such an eye opener.  I appreciate Mary and Joseph so much more now that I have experienced child birth and mother hood.  Mary was truly amazing and I certainly admire her and her strength and faith.

I am more grateful for this Holiday Season where we get to celebrate Jesus' birth.  This seasons seems so much more special than it has in previous years - and i'm so grateful I get to spend it with my little family.

Lincoln was the perfect little Jesus. He didn't fuss once. He got many compliments throughout the night on how well he did.

I love my little man so much!

So once again...

3 months & Dinos

First off-we LOVE Christmas time..especially Lincoln. He loves our Christmas tree with all the lights.

Back to business...

My Lincoln James is 3 months old today! 3 months have gone by so fast!!

He has been growing like a weed. He is getting so big! He is still rolling over...only for me though :) Every time James tries to get Lincoln to roll over her wont. But he'll manage to always roll over for me! Today while we were doing tummy time I was trying to get some pictures of him on his tummy, but everytime I went to snap a photo, he'd roll over onto his back. He made me laugh so hard!!

He started laughing last week! It is THE CUTEST thing in the whole world!  He first laughed when I tickled him under his chin, then he'd laugh when I'd put his little foot in his mouth. He now laughs when I change his diaper, while we having singing time and for no reason at all. I have videos of it, but once again, blogger wont upload the videos.

Lincoln is doing a lot better sitting in his bumbo. You can tell he is getting a lot stronger.  He can last a good 15 minutes in it now without fussing.

He LOVES sucking on his hands. I find him sucking on his hands most of the day. I try to put his binky in so he wont suck his hands raw, but he'll spit it out and continue to munch on his hands. We try giving him a toy to munch on but he doesn't really have the coordination of holding a toy and putting it in his mouth.  So for the mean time, we'll just continue to have a slobbery baby.  On Sunday, during sunday school Lincoln was slobbering so much that I had to put a bib on him. By the end of the lesson  I had to take it off because it was complete drenched! This boy has so much saliva! :)

Lincoln James also loves blankets! He loves having a soft blanket by his face to fall asleep, just like his momma. I get worried about having a blanket by his face when he sleeps, but he seriously will not sleep if he doesn't have something soft to rub his face on. If there isn't a blanket by his head, he'll get his arms under the blanket and push it up towards his face. He's one smart little boy!

He's been sleeping pretty well still.  He drinks his 4 ounces before bed time and will sleep pretty much from 9-4 then from 4-8:30 or will sleep through the whole night.  Either way, it's so nice to have consecutive hours of sleep. But when he does sleep though the night, I wish I would. My body still thinks it needs to wake up at 4AM to feed Lincoln. Hopefully soon I'll be sleeping through the night.

I love my little guy so much! He has such a fun, bubbly personality shinning through already. I can't wait to see him continually grow.

Last Monday for Family Night, James and I took Lincoln to the Dinosaur Museum. He was in aw the whole entire time...as in James.  James had never been there before and loved every single dinosaur! Did you know that when James was little he wanted to be a paleontologist? Well, I surely didn't! Lincoln really enjoyed it as well :)

Look Kaid! It's your favorite Dinosaur!!

Lincoln's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, December 5th 2010 my sweet little Lincoln James was blessed by his amazing Daddy.  It was such a special day for me.

When we got to the church I started seeing all our family arrive. Tears came to my eyes as I saw all our loved ones who have supported us during this journey of parenthood come and share this special day with us.

Right before it was time that Lincoln was blessed he became super fussy. I gave him his bottle but thought that if I took it out of his mouth he'd scream or he'd spit it up all over everyone in the circle. Luckily, when it was time, James took Mr. Lincoln from me and he stopped crying.  I prayed that's he'd be happy during his blessing.

James did such an amazing job with the blessing. He blessed Lincoln with the desire to be obedient, to have faith, with the ability to work, that he'll gain a testimony of the Gospel, The Book of Mormon, the prophets and especially Jesus Christ and that he will look to the great examples around him.

I wish I could have been standing in the circle.  All the men in the circle: Dad, Layne, Nick, Dennis, John, Bill, Taylor, Sam, Thomas and Daniel all had good things to say about the blessing. But the most touching thing to me was when everyone said how sweet and touching it was to see Lincoln being held by everyone, holding onto my Dads finger starring, smiling and cooing. I have such a sweet little boy and to hear how happy he was during this sacred ordinance really testified to me the truthfulness of this Gospel.

I was able to stand and bare my testimony in church. I don't remember what I said, but all I know is that my heart was so full and I needed to express to my Heavenly Father how grateful I was for my family and for my little Lincoln and what a blessing he has been in our lives.

The spirit was so strong, not only during the blessing, but for the rest of the day.  When I thought about the amazing Gospel and how luckily I am to have been raised in a righteous home and to now be in a position to raise my own child in this Gospel, my heart would burn because of the gratitude I was feeling.

I am also grateful that I married James, who was also raised in a righteous home.  It is easy for us to live a righteous life together because we both have the same standards and wants and desires.

After the blessing we had our families over for a little luncheon. It was so nice to be surrounded by our loved ones.

Here are some of the many pictures I documented of Lincoln's special day

My dad and Scotty.
My dad had both of his feet operated on just days before the blessing and Scotty had just had ankle surgery. They were such trooper to come!

Lincoln loves my Dad! They have such a sweet bond

All the Wright boys who came

haha I love this face - he was so ready for nap time at this point.

Thanks again for everyone's love and support. You helped this day be very special for us!

The first week of December

I love December because there is always so much stuff going on! I love having something to look forward to...Christmas shopping, Christmas parties, Decorating the Christmas tree, cheesy Hallmark movies, Christmas lights, seeing Santa and lots and lots of family time.

This Christmas has been extra special because it is Lincolns First Christmas! I want to do everything that has to deal with Christmas because I want to be able to say (and have a picture to prove it) that Lincoln has had the best First Christmas! And plus, it's our first Christmas as a family of 3!

This past week was very eventful! First I have to brag about my little Lincolnator.  Last Monday, November 29th, he...

Rolled Over! yes he surly did! It has seriously been the highlight of my week. We were doing tummy time and I of course was taking pictures of him and then he hiccuped and rolled over! I have a video of it, but it wont upload for some crazy reason. But believe me..he did it! I'm seriously so proud!

On Tuesday, November 30ths Lincoln reached his 11 week mark. I seriously cannot believe how fast he is growing! He is all smiles these days... well besides when he wants attention or gets scared and makes the saddest face anyone has ever seen! He puckers his bottom lip and quivers his little chin. I can't help but laugh when I see it. I have a little drama king on my hands!

Lincoln is also sleeping so well! He goes to bed in between 8 and 9 PM. Usually by 8:30 and he sleeps until 4 or 5, then has bottle then wakes up at 8 or 9 am! It is so nice to be able to have some time in the night to get a few last minute things done and then it's nice that he sleeps so long! It would be nice if he went to bed a little later so he was actually sleeping through the night..but in all reality this works just great for us!

He isn't laughing yet, just smiling all the time. I try all day to get him to laugh, but he just wont belt it out! He will soon...and when he does, you'll be hearing about it!

Anyways on the 30th, Stephanie had her little baby!! Yay! I was so excited to finally meet little Ronald Bo Craven! He was so tiny compared to Lincoln. They are exactly 11 weeks apart and are going to be trouble makes in the years to come.

On Wednesday I went up to hang out with my mom and Kelli. We went Anthro shopping! loved it! Can't wait for Christmas :) Afterward I tried on different outfits on Lincoln for his blessing that was yesterday. (that will be a separate post) My mother in law gave me James' blessing outfit in case I wanted to use it. James' blessing outfit really is cute. He had a bonnet and little pants and a sweater. When I tried it on on Lincoln, I just put on the bonnet and the bottoms and kept his little gray onesie on. Look at my little German boy

Needless to say, he was not happy and we ended up using a different outfit :)

On Friday, we went out and picked out a Christmas tree. If you remember last year James went hunting and got a permit to cut down a tree. Boy, that tree was so sad looking! Can't remember it? Check it out HERE.

We found the perfect tree at Harmons. Yes Harmon's and they were only 30 bucks! Now that's a steal!

  All bundled, ready to go!

On Saturday, my Grandparents held the annual Tree Trimming event. Every first Saturday of December we go over to my grandparents and have a great lunch and then decorate their Christmas tree. And every year the same thing happens...my lovely grandpa explains the rules to decorating the tree:
1. No hanging things on the lights
2. Only on ornaments per branch
3. NO MORE than 3 strands of tinsel on a branch.

And every year the little kids always put most the ornaments on one branch, ornaments and tinsel gets hung on the lights and yes, the tinsel is thrown in globs on the tree :)

oh my goodness I love my boys!

Blowing the Tinsel
 My Mister sleeping.
This was the first time wearing 0-3 month jeans.
Still a little big as you can see!

I can't wait for the weeks to come! So much more fun is on the way!!
